Mesosculpting Technique printfriendly

Mesosculpting is another treatment technique used by California HealthSpan Institute specifically designed to treat localized fat deposits in the body. It primarily involves the use of the medication phosphatidylcholine which is injected directly into the skin where there are abnormal deposits of fat which won't disappear despite proper diet and regular exercise. This treatment has been used successfully in Europe and South America for over 10 years.

Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) is a naturally occurring substance in every cell in the body. It helps maintain lipid balance and it controls what is going in and out of the cell. It increases HDL levels (more commonly known as the good cholesterol). It helps inhibit plaque formation inside of the blood vessels and it is also needed for good brain function. PPC can breakdown fat and help it metabolize. The broken down fat turns into energy, is used by the muscles or is excreted through the digestive process.

PPC has been used successfully to treat fat deposits under the eyes, on the hips, legs, arms, abdomen, waist, neck and any other area on the body where unwanted fat may reside. It is a wonderful alternative to costly and invasive surgical techniques such as liposuction and the results are amazing. After treatment sessions are completed the skin is tighter, smoother and more contoured resulting in a favorable cosmetic appearance.

Typically, treatment for fat pads under the eyes involves only two treatments four weeks apart. For other areas of the body treatment time varies but the average number of treatment sessions is four every four to six weeks per area. It can take up to six months for the full effect of the PPC injections but results usually begin to become apparent within a week or two after treatment. Usually no further treatment is required once sessions are completed but occasionally some patients may need a touch up every year. If a person follows a proper diet and exercise routinely it has been our experience that the unwanted fat deposits will not return.

Mesosculpting is safe and the only side effect may be some localized bruising at the injection sites. The Mesosculpt technique using PPC is not recommended for minors or children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, diabetics with vascular concerns, persons with autoimmune diseases, people who have liver disease, persons who are severely obese or anyone with an acute or chronic infection.

The California HealthSpan institute method of Mesosculpt is painless and there is no "downtime" following the procedure.
